Snow Flakes

During our short freeze we had a little snow on top of ice and I found some intact snowflakes. I have not yet mastered being able to photograph snowflakes as I would like, yet, for there are so few opportunities to practice, but here is my second attempt.  The first one was last year.  I felt like I was doing yoga in getting as close as I could to the ice, holding poses and staying as still as I could; the slightest movement causes a blur. Next time, I will use a faster shutter speed.  I was stealing time to do this, so I had to hurry and did not have time to think it through enough.  Next time I think I will be more prepared to do this.  I went back later hoping they might still be there and they had already melted away, ice and all.  Such a fleeting opportunity.
