We had an all around good day this year which is a rare day when things go well the whole day. My father is visiting from NH so we were able to celebrate the day with him which definitely made it even more special.  It was a day of eating and fun. We had a waffles made by my husband, barbecue with  yummy shish-kabobs, a little hike at Powell Butte, strawberry shortcake, some low key fireworks/sparklers, and a movie at the end, Fantastic Beasts.  And the kids got along for the most part. Phew!
